What’s it all about
Back in 2009 we had an idea to raise the profile of drumming, and also raise thousands of pounds for the MS Society to help improve awareness about Multiple Sclerosis.
And so, on Monday July 13th 2009, a total of 582 drummers made their way to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham for the first Stickit drumfest. It was an awesome day and we raised a total of £66,315.98 for the MS Society and an official Guinness World Record was broken! We even won the MS Society award winner 2010 ‘MS Fundraider of the year’.
Now we’re busy planning another Stickit for 2012 with the aim of smashing the Guiness World Record and raising even more money for MS.
When is it happening?
We’re currently looking for suitable venue so the location and date will be announced in due course. In the meantime keep popping back to the site for latest news or sign up to our forums to start chatting with us. We’ve also got an RSS feed you can subscribe to.
Who can take part?
Stickit is an event for drummers so if you can beat the skins and keep reasonable timing you’ll be more than welcome! You can be any age as well, though if you’re under 16 you must be accompanied by an adult.
We’re also looking for volunteers as well to help out on the day shifting stuff, running around and generally helping to make things go smoothly.
If you have any questions about participating please contact us or register and post a question in the forums.
